Confidence and Honesty

Updated: Jun 30, 2021

Last night I attended a neat fundraiser for the Children’s Advocacy Center. If you are looking for a cause to support, truly THIS IS IT! With the increase in child abuse in the last 2 years, we all should be chipping in to take care of kiddos in tough situations. Back to what spurred this post. At the event,

I sat with some friends who are beautiful inside and out, CRAZY SMART, and outstanding in their respective fields. Would you believe that one of the topics that came up was lack of confidence? (insert slap to the face here). I struggle, friends. The self-doubt monster is very real, and I know I am not alone.

At this event, I had a few people comment that they like what I put out there on my professional social media pages, that I was so positive and uplifting. To those comments, I struggle to say, “thank you.” Putting myself out there in order to market my speaking, consulting, and coaching services is the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I feel judged and dumb often. I wonder if I am making a difference or creating the connections I want to create. However, I decided a long time ago (almost a year now, wow!) that no matter what, I wanted to be a cheerleader for every person I was ever able to work with. I also wanted a positive, thought-provoking message to roll across anyone’s social media who might link to me, whether I have had the privilege to work with you or not. So here I am….trying.

I know I need cheerleaders! We all need cheerleaders sometimes. It was one of the things I was known for as a coach. I was also known for being bluntly honest, so know that I MEAN EVERY WORD when I am cheering you on and working strategy with you. In a world where there is so much negativity, I think we all need a reminder to be kind, be positive, and be willing to remind others they are not alone! I will keep working to do this for others and myself. I will also keep working on just saying “thank you” when someone is cheering me on.

P.S. To every person who has and is cheering me on in this journey to make a difference, THANK YOU, I will forever hold you close to my heart!
